I've been waiting on a 
(C) Cold front to trample this 
(G) Sun I been calling my mama on the tele-
(C) phone I been cooking lots a
(C) chicken on the kitchen
(F) stove.. and pulling the (C) meat
(G) right off the
(C) bone I been sending them letters of 
sorrow 
(G) home I been a hurtin ?? FOOL and 
sleeping A-
(C) lone I been eatin lots of
(C) chicken and getting mighty
(F) stoned and pulling the
(C) meat (G) right off the 
(C) bone and I (C7) ask My-
(F) self how did it get this
(C) way but when I ask myself
(C) I aint got much to(G)say Im justa cookin
(C) chicken and eatin(F) crow and pulling the
(C) meat (G) right off the (C) bone

We have no
(C) preacher to marry our
(G) son, our daughters have 
(G) no faith in a christian 
(C) home and so we live now,
(C) now that god is (F) gone were pulling the

(C) way but when I ask my
(C) self I aint got much to
